Dave Rippard wins big at Mini Fest on the beautiful lawn in front of Stanford Hall. The final British Mini Club event of the year saw Dave win his class, best interior and Mini Of The Day in Premier Concours kindly sponsored by Meguiars UK
It was so good to see so many different Mini’s in concours this year. Including a very nice Mini Sprint with a supercharged engine and a rare Wood and Picket Dashboard. This quite unique Mini is a definite future winner.
Also Sally Dyer making her concours debut after stepping up from Show N Shine winning her class with her lovely GP3. We know, like many, she has spent many hours preparing her MINI. Well done Sally, now for the red carpet at Mini Fair in January.
Thank you to everyone taking part in Premier Concours at Stanford Hall, you are all winners
Did you see the fantastic display by the Cooper Sport 500 Register and the 2000 Mini Register on the circular lawn right in front of the hall, including a good selection Mini Cooper Sport 500’s plus 2 super Mini 40’s. They certainly created a lot of interest.
Also on the lawn was a first display of The Classic Cabriolet Club, admin Adam Lancaster did a brilliant job to get 6 of the finest Lamm Cabriolets, including the very rare Lamm prototype which was interesting as it still had the two chrome bumpers plus the roof was a slightly different design to the final version.
The lawn also including a mix of GP’s from the GP Owners Club, the majority being GP1’s, Steve Moore’s ex press GP2 and of course the stunning GP3.
Show N Shine this year was very busy with over 40 super modern MINI’s from R53’s to JCW’s competing against each other other, very difficult for any judge to decide on a winner. Some incredible classic Mini’s including a Cooper S engined Wolseley Hornet, plus the ex Tony Rutt racing ‘61 997 Austin Cooper. A very nice Clubman GT sporting a 1.3i badge on the boot. The owner telling us the engine was the single point injection from a 90’s Mini. It had been moved 1 inch and was probably the first of its type in the square front Mini. There was a quite original 1275GT in Antelope beige registered in early 1970. The owner had gone the extra mile to keep it as original as possible, including the rare reclining front seats.
Hopefully we can encourage the entrants, especially many in the 90’s class to progress to Premier Concours at Himley Hall. Thank you to all the entrants you certainly caused our judges headaches
Some 35 Mini clubs from all over the UK in attendance at Mini Fest putting on a fantastic 65th Mini birthday display. Well done to Mini Girls UK who have had a clean sweep at all our events this year. Mini Fest is a great place for clubs to meet up and showcase themselves.
The loudest exhaust competition is always a blast and when the Peter Baldwin replica space framed Clubman created by Coopers Garage rocked up we knew we were in for a treat. Most entrants were around the 90 decibel mark. But the replica smashed it hitting 100.00 decibels exactly. Though he was run close by r56_bumble with her R56 Cooper S who managed 97
Loudest ICE provided some fun with massive woofers in the boot and loads of decibels and vibrating windows. No quirky horns this year but plenty of air horn action by Carl Bing. All good fun with plenty of audience interaction. Come and join the fun in 2025 on the 14th Sept at Stanford Hall
The British Mini Club have been organising events Mini events for 32 years and our experience is unique. Thank you to everyone for your continued support and together we can always give 100% to the Mini scene.
