What a cracking day at the British Mini Clubs Premier Concours season opener at Himley Hall, on the 7th May 2017. Himley is a beautiful setting for a Mini show, in fact you would be very hard pressed to find a better venue. Sponsored by Autoglym the concours fields saw some top quality Classic and Modern Mini’s in display. With owners spending most of the morning preparing the cars in the early summer sunshine. Yes it was a superb day weather wise and Mini wise. Yet aain our judges had a tough time deciding on the winners in class. All Mini’s are taken on their own merit and not compared to cars in the same class and points not added up until judging is completed.
The eventual overall winner was chosen from all the class winners and wittled down to 3 Mini’s this included 2 classic Minis and one modern MINI. What a tough task. We sent out one of our top judges to have a look at the 3 Mini’s and eventually he decided on Steve Moore’s MINI GP, I t was a close run thing but Steve deserved the honour of being crowned Best Mini In Show. Steve received a cheque for £250 along with Autoglym High Definition Wax and a trophy. Well done Steve.
All class winners were presented with Autoglym Prodcts courtesy of Branson Automotive.
Shown N Shine saw a packed field for both old and new Mini. In fact many of them would have graced concours. Show N Shine is judged by all the entrants, they each decide who they wish to win and return the voting slips to our Chief Judge, Fiona Mannion. It’s a great way to show of your Mini to the show visitors without the pressure of concours. This is very much an expanding part of all British Mini Club events.
British Mini Club Premier Concours and Show n Shine is open to all owners of Mini’s from 1959 right upto the present day. Come along and take part in our future events as you are assured of a warm welcome from the British Mini Club.
A big thank you to all the Clubs who put on a fantastic display on the Himley hill. It was great to see and visitors enjoyed taking the time to look at, and chat, wit the various clubs. It was good to see you all enjoying the day.
