A great day at the British Mini Clubs Mini Fest 2016 at Uttoxeter Racecourse in Staffordshire. Fortunatly the rain on the saturday moved away east and a lovely dry day on the Sunday With a fantastic turn of some regular show cars and some new ones as well. Which is always great to see.
With some top quality Mini’s entered in both Classic and Modern Concours it was incredibly tough to decide an overall Mini Of The Day. But our Chief Judge Fiona Mannion and David Hollis had a look at all the class winners, after much deliberation they just had to choose the incredible Mini Traveller (woody) owned by Andrew Nash. The restoration of this incredible Mini is truly a work of art. If you saw it on the day you know exactly what we mean.
Did you see the ex Liverpool Police Mini Cooper S making it’s first show appearance at Mini Fest. Found in Manchester and restored to how it would have been it looked superb. Along with the transformed Mini Cooper Tribute owned by Lee Roberts. Lee told us this was his first ever car and he still owns it now and created into a tribute to John Cooper with some very nice touches.
It’s lovely to see more MINI’s entering concours as well the standard is definatly improving. The one that caught our eye was the all black Cooper S owned by Jake Lee, it is a real credit to him and can only better.
Show N Shine is great fun without all the pressure of concours. A great way to show of your Mini to the general public and other Mini fans. Voted for by other entrants the classic winer was attracting admiring looks all day. The stuning MK1 Austin Mini 287 MOX took the prize. The new MINI won by VO06 EZT was a close call as the standard was just so good. The blue Cooper was a deserved winner althou the blinged interior of a Cooper S called MIMI was certainly very different,
The Club stands put on a great display as always and our thanks to them. With Wirral Mini’s taking the top prize. Although the Midland JCW Owners Group had the biggest surprise of the day with 2nd place. To be fair is was deserved as they put on a great display.
