Description
Welcome to the sale of my 1991 Rover, Mini 1000 City E. This car had undergone a full nut and bolt restoration in 2021 and is still in amazing condition inside and out.
It is with a heavy heart that I’ve come to the decision to part with this beautiful car. Unfortunately, there is only so many times that you can keep seeing a classic car like this one parked up and not being able to give it the attention it deserves.
All in all, a lovely example of Mini.
There has been no expense spared in creating and maintaining this classic beauty. Works undertaken include; a straight through stainless steel Fletcher dual exhaust, new SU carburetor, head gasket replacement along with cylinder head being re-skimmed, complete new interior with Walnut dash board and matching steering wheel, brand new Nankang tyres and the list continues. Along with parts and accessories this car has been services each year of my ownership 3 year, and flew it’s last few years MOT’s with the latest test having no advisories to have to attend to.
This is a beautiful example of a classic mini and a certain head turner. Although this mini really roars from the Fletcher exhaust, it is deceptive with it’s 1000cc mini which many people may think is faster than what it actually is but that allows you to really take in and appreciate how well this mini drives. Due to being so reliable I was fortunate enough to use this mini for my own wedding, in the mists of snow in November, whereas unlike other minis, this one has no issues starting from cold. As already mentioned, this mini comes with 10 months MOT (no advisories) and having recently been serviced is therefore ready to enjoy.
The interior of this car is beautiful. Seats are red and black with stitched emboss union jacks. Matching red and embossed union jack door cards complete the set within this classic. Walnut dashboard with chrome bezels and matching glove box catch. Finishing touches with a Walnut and chrome steering wheel and Walnut ‘mini’ gear knob. Black carpet throughout, chrom door card accessories, red seat belts front and back, clear perspex kick board with speakers, circular LED ‘C-panel installed’ interior lights and LED brake light within rear window complete the interior.
The underneath of the car including arches have been colour coded with the main body of the car and is in great condition. An additional accessory (reversing flashing LED light) has been installed to the rear subframe to give that extra head turn especially during night hours when reflecting on the stainless steel Fletcher exhaust.
As you will see from the images provided within this listing, the body work on this classic mini is great. This mini is completely rust free all round. When originally restored, this mini had been repainted in a brighter red colour which truly stands out day and night. Additional items/ upgrades include:
Colour matched 12×6 minilite alloy
chrome wipers
chrome wing mirrors
chrome front and rear bumper
chrome early-style mustache grill
ultra wide arches
Cibie fog lights
led rear fog lights
Whilst it has been a priority to keep this car covered as much as possible (breathable stormproof 4 layer outdoor cover with carry case included in sale), it is inevitable that when enjoying this mini the occasional wear and tear has generated. Due to the red colour of this mini, there has been slow progression of sun bleaching occurring on the front wings, front arches and bonnet. With this in mind, it might be in need of a respray in the next couple of years.
Current mileage is 84819, this shall increase slightly over the coming weeks due to classic mini shows that I’ll be attending/ fitting in before the sale of this mini.
I am open to negotiation. Viewings are very welcome.
I love this car and I’m only selling as I believe it should get more use than what it gets (approx. 2500 miles in the last 2 years).
Please feel free to message me, if you are a genuine buyer, and I will give you my contact details. I am not looking for any ‘swaps’ or part exchange thank you.
*Sony stereo head unit does not come with the car.
