SAWN-OFF MINIVAN TRAILER,
I converted it in about 1980 from a crashed van. It has a 20 swg steel bulkhead with infills at the sides a few inches in front of where the rear of the doors used to close. The petrol filler has been removed and the aperture flange-welded and filled.
There is the spare wheel and battery compartment which need doors to be made and hinged.
The left side has a big dent, filled so as not to be noticeable outside.
The rear doors are good, and the bottoms have been professionally repaired with steel sheet. The locking handle is non-standard but the latch and rods are present and good
The drawbar is a scaffold tube, duly bent for level running and welded to a thick approximately 6″ square plate bolted to the body in the middle between the subframe mountings. The towing hitch is rigid, as the trailer weighs less than 5 cwt. The original brakes are present and will need complete renewal if to be reinstated with an over-run hitch.
The lighting is original including the loom and is in working order.
The trailer is roadworthy, but needs minor repairs to the exterior sides, cleaning and painting internally and externally.
There are four wheels, one with a new tyre, three others, two needing new tyres. It has hub caps with integral embellishers.
The trailer is available for inspection by arrangement.
