Austin Mini Clubman
1970 | miles | The Bodywork has been restored to the beautiful factory “Antelope Beige” paint.
He has his original red vinyl seats and door cards (complete with authentic 70s smell) we had to replace the carpets as they were thread bare but chose a bespoke older style “tufted” carpet set as this was a close to original style as possible.
The engine is the original matching numbered 998cc engine and runs on unleaded with lead substitute added.
The Bodywork has been restored to the beautiful factory “Antelope Beige” paint.
He has a full set of period correct Dunlop tyres including a spare.
Putty has won concours events at BMC shows and at other classic shows and has also been featured in Mini Magazine.
Despite being a concours original car we still drive Putty, his ability to be driven and enjoyed was key to our plan and this influenced our decision to have disc brakes and poly-bushes fitted purely to enhance safety. These were the only changes to the cars originality.
Amazingly Putty stills runs on a dynamo and also has his hydrolastic suspension, like driving on air.
This car is tax & MOT exempt (although it will come with a new MOT for peace of mind if we get full asking price ) and we pay £80 a year to insure it so it really is an affordable classic.
For full details read the magazine article it explains Putty’s story and our vision.
