Mini4RNLI To Visit Himley

You might have seen recently we shared an image on our Facebook page of a Classic Mini that has been rebuilt by the Mini4RNLI team to help raise funds for the very worthy cause that is the RNLI. Well the Mini and the team will be at the British Mini Clubs event at Himley Hall on May 12th. Please donate what you can and perhaps enquire how yopu can take part in the Rally Beaujolais 2013.

A recent comment from the Mini4RNLI Facebook page "

"Shiver me timbers The Brixham Pirate Festival was good, but Himley Hall should be prepared to be boarded on Sunday, collection buckets have arrived so bring pieces of eight (failing that, Pounds, Euros, Dollars, Drachmas, Yen anything of monetary value). See you Mini fans soon."

Mini4RNLI is a 12 month project set up in aid of The RNLI. Our aim to promote Rallye Beaujolais 2013 throughout the year by competing in Hill Climbs, Sprints, Rallies and Shows throughout Europe selling advertising  space on both the Mini, Support Vehicle, merchandising and with our  Internet presence.

The Rallye Beujolais 2013 will be an organised rally in November lasting about 4 days taking in the lovely French countryside,  along route to the Beaujolais region. Entrants will be set challenges  along the way with organisers arranging Ferry Crossings and Accommodation.

We hope to have up to 50 Minis competing in the challenge in teams of 5. Car clubs and individuals can compete. Each entrant will pay cost price for the event plus £50 donation to The RNLI, although each car will be welcome to raise funds for their own chosen charity. Restaurants will be encouraged to host Beaujolais events, where competitors will be able to deliver the wine with a grand entrance and a photo call. The RNLI is funded entirely by charitable donations and bequests and fundraising events such as this are an important way in ensuring The RNLI can continue there life saving work

We encourage supporters to visit www.virginmoneygiving.com  and

Barrie Whizzo Williams to attend Himley

Whizzo Williams and His Mini Cooper S

Barrie Williams to attend Himley Hall with his Mini Cooper S. Wow... Barrie Whizzo Williams has recently visited The British Mini Club. Telling us about his racing stories in his Classic Mini. The man is another great Mini legend...... And will be attending our British Mini Day at Himley Hall on the 12th May....

Barrie’s early motorsport career was focussed on rallying and he won the International Welsh Rally in 1964. An amazing achievement as this was his first real ‘stage’ rally and his first international event. It was also the first International Rally win for a Cooper ‘S’, just pre-dating Paddy Hopkirk’s famous Monte Carlo victory. Barrie continued rallying throughout the sixties at the very highest level in Minis, Imps and Cortinas – in fact anything he could get his hands on. His most famous car, his 1275 Cooper S – 120 MNP, has been rebuilt to period rally specification and will be at Himley Hall on the British Mini Club Stand.
